Drawing has been a major distraction for me this year... these drawings of Panda and Stripeyman were inspired by starting the INKTOBER Challenge on Instagram.. each day in October there was a different prompt.. and so the adventures began..
I have carried on drawing each day into November... so please follow me on Instagram
May Bank Holiday. 2018
I found these cigarette filters outside the house... where Jamie used to smoke..
I started collecting them and was amazed how many I found...each one a breath..
Quite by chance I had a prepared white canvas, so I started sticking the ends on to the canvas in the shape of a feather... adding 24ct gold foil to two filters
This has now become my most precious memory of Jamie..
The final Feather... beautifully framed by a brilliant local picture framer Peter Richardson
I was thrilled that my bird brooch was chosen as the image for the publicity....
British Society of Enamellers Exhibition at the Goldsmiths' Centre London.
This is a beautiful exhibition which covers all aspects of contemporary enamelling in the UK today.
It has been carefully curated and the displays explain the many different forms and techniques used in the enamel process.
This was a request to make a replica of the enamel teardrop which was attached to Marc Bolan's guitar.
(white Fender Stratocaster).
...an interesting challenge.
The second interesting request was a repair.
This was a silver pendant which had badly damaged (and replaced) enamel?/resin.
When I checked the hallmark it was AR Iona.
I then discovered the work of Alexander and Euphemia Ritchie and their Celtic Jewellery from Iona.
It was so interesting to read that Alex and Euphemia had met at Glasgow School of Art
in the 1890s
IONA Celtic Art - by E.Mairi MacArthur.
